This is a smaller sized porcelain gaiwan produced and hand-painted in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China. This is an ideal gaiwan for 1-4 person sessions. A pink lotus flower or lin hua is hand-painted on the lid of the gaiwan.

Some notes on this product:

• Because it’s made of porcelain, a neutral material, it won’t affect the taste of the tea like unglazed materials might.
• The stated volume of 105ml is measured with no leaves in the gaiwan and the water filled to just under where the lid sits, so in reality it will fit more like 90-100ml of water with tea leaves inside.
• There is a only one of this gaiwan available.
• Before using for the first time rinse the gaiwan with hot water to wash-off any residue left-over from manufacturing or packaging.
• To clean, rinse with hot water (boiling water is ideal), and dry quickly with a clean, thick tea towel. Wash shortly after use to avoid any stains (but if there are stains you can easily scrub them out).
