Tea has been grown in Taiwan since at least the 1700s, while all types of tea are grown in Taiwan it is most well known for it’s myriad variety of oolongs, both high mountain and lowland, low and high oxidation, roasted and unroasted. Aromatics are a big part of Taiwanese tea and they take a more scientific approach with research institutes dedicated to inventing new cultivars and embracing new processing methods like that which makes GABA tea.
